How to set up mail filters, an auto-responder and block lists
Create filters and an out-of-office reply from fixed options; the panel writes and compiles the Sieve script for you.
You never write Sieve: you choose from fixed options and the panel generates the script and checks it before publishing.
Steps
- Open Email, Filters and select the mailbox.
- Add a filter by choosing from the available rules; the panel writes the script.
- To set an auto-responder, give the reply text and, if you want one, the dates. The panel always limits repeat replies to the same sender.
- Add addresses to the block list or allow list.
- Save. A script that does not compile is rejected and cannot affect delivery for other mailboxes.
Limits
- Forwarding from filters is capped per mailbox, because free-form forwarding could turn a mailbox into a spam relay.
- The rule set is closed on purpose.
