How to use the file manager and the browser terminal

How-to Access and accounts file managerterminalshellconsolejail

Edit and move files in the browser, and open a console when your provider enabled shell access; what to do when the console is not enabled.

File manager

  1. Open Access, File manager.
  2. List, create folders, rename, delete and change permissions. Setuid, setgid and sticky bits cannot be set.
  3. Upload files up to 1 GiB each; they stream to disk. Download files; compress and extract .zip archives.
  4. It works only inside your home, as your user, and within your disk quota.

Terminal

  1. Open Access, Terminal. A console opens in the browser.
  2. You are inside a jail: the system is read-only, you see only your home, your own processes and a private /tmp.
  3. At most 3 terminals per account can be open; idle ones close after 30 minutes.

"The console is not enabled for this account" (403)

Your account is SFTP-only. The provider enables shell access; it is off by default because a console is more trust than SFTP. Ask them. Sub-users cannot open the terminal at all, and suspending the account closes open terminals.
