What it is

An alias is an extra name served by the same site. A parked domain is an extra name added to a site; it is covered by the site's wildcard certificate and never asks for a certificate of its own.

What it is for

Pointing www, old domains or brand variants at one site without duplicating it.

Limits

The extra name must not belong to another client. Parked domains count against the plan's parked-domain cap. If the zone is not served by this node, each name needs its own certificate and must already point at the node.
