What it is

Certificates are issued and renewed by Let's Encrypt. When this node serves the DNS zone, one wildcard certificate (*.example.com plus example.com) covers the site and every subdomain added later, validated against the node's own BIND. Otherwise each name gets a normal certificate over HTTP-01.

What it is for

HTTPS for every site with no manual work; a commercial certificate when you need one (upload it, or generate a CSR first).

Limits

Issuing on demand is rate-limited per domain to protect the shared Let's Encrypt quota. HTTP-01 needs the domain to already point at the node. An uploaded certificate must match its key.
